What are all basis elements in a defect report?

HI,

in a defect report the basic elements are as follows:

1.Defect id: an unique number or name

2.Description: summary of the defect

3.Feature: module/function/service, in these the test engineer has found the defect

4. Test case name: corresponding test case name

5.Reproducible: (yes/no). yes-every time defect appears during test execution

no-rarely defect appears

6.If yes: attach procedure

7.If no: attach snapshot and strong reasons

8.Status: new/reopen

9.Priority: importance of the defect with regards to customer requirements

10.Severity: seriousness of the defect interms of functionality(high/med/low)

11.Reported by: name of the test analyst/engineer

12.reported on: date of submission

13.Assign to: name of the responsible person to whom the defect is forwarded

14.Build version id:in which version of the build the defect is found

15.Suggested fix (optional):if any suggestions

16.Fixed by:

17.Resolved by:

18.Resolved on:

19.Resolution type:

20.Approved by:

in the above 16,17,18,19,20 are filled by the development team.

This the IEEE format for the defect report so essentially these are the basic elements in an defect report but can be changed according to the organizations own policies or requirements.

Defect reporting that is differ company to company, some comapnies are using there own defect reporting tool.

Defect information:

Project, software , version, defect id, headline, severity, priority, triaged, enhancement request, investigation issue, doc issue, customer defect, test case id, ticket number, problam.

Detection information:

Statuse, detection method, detection information, test program name, os and vesrion name , macine name.
