I am a mechanical engineer working in a reputed company as a maintenance engineer for last one year. now i am thinking of doing MS (Finance) and switch in field of finance. will it be beneficial for me?

I am sure you are aware of how diverse the two jobs are from one another.

Shifting to Finance field requires different acumen from that involved in maintenance job.

How much more Finance is beneficial to you is solely dependent on your uncanny ability to grasp and implement its various aspects.

Answering these questions may also help you take a decision.

  • Are you unhappy with maintenance job?
  • Are you aware of various aspects in Finance field?
  • Have you talked and gained insight with those who work in similar Finance field?
  • How have you planned to achieve career growth in finance field?
  • In five years from now, where will you be if you remain as a maintenance enginner and where do you think you will be if you shift to Finance?
  • Do you have a backup-plan?
