One way to survive chaos is to just do what you have been doing at the same pace you have been doing form the start.  following what you need to follow in order to successfully accomplish your testing goals. 

Their are several reason for chaos:

lost an important member of the team like a BA - PM - QA Personnel
Time is not managed properly by PM or allocated by your lead.
or finally and the most important one "you have a team of beginners who slid their way through an interview and want to learn about software testing on the job"


Just keep your head down, zip it, do your work, tell people your busy as you should be
and wait until the contract is over ....ha , i like
