zeros are obtained when the product of numbers involves the number '5' or multiples of number '5'.

for example,the product of 1*2*3*4*5=120 i.e there is only one zero bcoz there is only one '5' and no other multiple of '5' is involved in multiplication.

similarly 1*2*3*4*5*6*7*8*9*10=3628800 i.e there are 2 zeros in the end product bcoz there is a '5' and a '10' which is a multiple of '5' are involved.

however in 25*24=600 you see 2 zeros in the end product bcoz 25 can be written as 5*5.

therefore the number of zeros in the end product of numbers 1 to 100 is 23

For every 5 in unit palce one zero is added

so between 1 to 100 there are 10 nos like 5,15,25,..,95 which has 5 in unit place.

Similarly for every no divisible by 10 one zero is added in the answer so between 1 to 100  11 zeros are added

for 25,50,75 3 extra zeros are added

so total no of zeros are 10+11+3=24

24 is the answer.. total no of multiples of 5 upto 100 is 13 and no of 0s due to 10 is 11so ans is 13+11=24

100/2+100/4+100/8+...100/64+1=97

Product will contain 50 even nos and 20 nos as multiples of 5
so 2^50 * 5^20 = factors for decidong no of zeros
ie (2*5)^20
so total no. of zeros = 20

total no of zeros will b 21......
from 10 to 90 (only consider multiples of 10)............ 9 zeros
for 100 ..................... 2 zeros
every 5 and its multiple will produce a zero by multiplying with any even no.... so 10 more zeros......
so total... 9+2+10=21

zeros corrrespoding to 10,20,30...100 = 11 zeros
zeros corresponding to 5*2 ,15*12,25*22.....95*92 = 10 zeros.
so i got 21 zeros. i dont know how to get more.
can any body...

0`s are obtained when there is a multiple of 5 and 2

so in 100 non of zeros == 100/5+100/5^2
                                      =  24

as if we divide by 2 and its powers then number obtained is more than what if we divide by 5

so 24 will be the correct answer

Ans: 22 (and though 75 is having 2 5's as multiples 74*75 will result in only one zero. Unlike 24*25

The answer is 24. Because for each number having 5 in ones place we will get a zero, therefore 10 (5, 15, 25,...95).
No.s with 0 in ones will obvoiusly contribute (10.20,30,...100) , therefore 11 (because hundred will contribute 2 zeros). And there are some no.s which are twice twice divisible by 5 like 25, 50, 75. Therefore; total = 10+11+3 = 24.

No man, that is the number of 2s. Number of fives are = 24 < 97.
Note: Alone 2 cannot contribute to a zero in the end.

I dont know why people are so confused about multiplication of 1 to 100 is nothing but
100*99*98*97.........*3*2*1
Which is 100! (factorial)
Now we can directly find the ans
100/5+100/25= 20+4=24

If any one thinking why till 25 because after that the quotient will be less than one that is of no use

the correct formula is
==>(n/5+n/52)
==>n=100
so the final answer would be 24

Becoz,Highest power of 5 in N=(100/5)+(100/5^2)=20+4 =24
