Straight Line - divide the NBV by the number of periods of it's useful life. 4-4-5 - similar to straight line but calculated by number of weeks in a period.

staight line means asset value-scrap value

No.of years *100

diminshing balance value is reduce very year

for depreciaton say 2 5 10years depreciates for assets like fixed assets

mainly depreciaton methods we take only 2 methods in to consideration (i.e) fixed installment /staright line . written down/diminishing balancemethod. but we do have 3 more methods (i.e)sum of digits. depreciation fundinsurance policy method etc.

1) Straight Line Method
2) Written Down Method
3) Annuity Method
4) Sinking Method
5) Machine Hour Method
6) Production Unit Method.
