I appeared for Accenture test held on 18 June
It contained following sections:

1. Logical Reasoning
2. Quantitative Aptitude
3. C questions (covering mostly pointers concept)
4. C++ questions (covered till Templates)
5. Database concepts (comparatively easy)
6. English

Aptitude and English paper were good. You can refer R.S. Agarwal for it.
You need to be well-versed with C/C++ concepts especially pointers.

Rest questions i don't remember, sorry for that.

Hello Guys

I sat for campus placement on 18th June, 2006 and i am happy to say that i was
selected by Accenture.

I would hereby like to share my experience

First and foremost, there was test of 1 hours with three sections

Section 1: "Attention to Detail"

In this there few questions in which to choose the odd one and out from a
pattern of letters

Eg: 1) TTHHYYIUUH 2) TTHHYYIUUH 3) TTHHYYIIUUH 4) TTHHYYIUUH

Section 2: "Analytical Ability"

In this there were question of analytical reasoning (RS AGGARWAL) and quite a
few questions from "Set Theory"(Venn Diagram)

Section 3: "Verbal Ability" Two full fledge comprehensions (bit tricky) and
synonyms/antonyms (very easy) etc were there

Out of 300 students from our campus only 131 managed to clear the test (although
it was an easy test)

Next was GD

We were a group of 10 and we were given topic "Is it the end of road for Sachin
Tendulkar?"

I myself a cricket enthusiast breezed through it quite easily, but important
things to remember in a GD is to speak up and make yourself heard but for god
sake NEVER BE AGGRESSIVE.

The one who was aggressive out of us 10 didnt make it past GD.

Make a valid point.

Keep your english simple and straight forward

Out of us 10, only 6 passed in GD (Result announced then and there)

Out of total 131, only 86 cleared GD round

Next up for me was HR Interview and for some was Technical

Anyhow, i went for HR confidently.

Some of the following questions were asked to me:

1.) Tell me about yourself

Ans: Be prepared for this common question

2.) Why Accenture

Ans: Be prepared again with a good answer

3.) Gaps in Study (mine was 3 years between +2 and BCA)

Ans: If you can convince them with genuinity of the gap in your studies, you are
through. I have read here that if you have gap in your studies, you wont be
selected. Well i had 3 years gap and i am selected

4.) If i speak to your friends about you, what would they say is positive
attribute of your character

Ans: Simply tell them about your biggest strength and mould in the form in which
they are asking.

5.) If i speak to your friends about you, what would they say is negative
attribute of your character

Ans: Simply tell them about your weakness (which should be disguised as a
strength) and mould in the form in which they are asking.

6.) What if i dont hire you today?

(Extremely important question)

Ans: Give a good answer to this question. I said " If i am not hired by
Accenture today, i am sure that i will be hired by some other company who will
be visiting our campus, BUT in one or two years time from now, I would come back
and try again for Accenture."

7.) Asked me about my irregular participation in extra-curricular activities, i
was not actively involved in Sports after +2

Ans: I said although i was not involved in Sports but during annual function in
our college, i took part in cultural activities.

Cleared HR interview

Next up was Technical Interview

The guy was having my resume in his hand and was reading it when i entered the
Interview room.

1.) In my resume i had mentioned, i love playing computer games in my free time.

The question he asked on this :

1.) Do you know how computer games are made?

Ans: My answer was "Although i dont really know about the technology being used,
but i do know about the standards which are followed i.e DirectX and OpenGL

2.) Would like you to learn how to make computer games?

Ans: "Yes, i would love to"

3.) Why dont you learn it now if you are interested in it?

Ans: "Currently i wish to secure a placement in a software company, but later on
if that company wants me to work in game development, i would love to do it"

4.) Then he gave me a simple query of SQLQuery:

There are two tables( A & B) having columns c1....c5 and c6....c11, with 50 rows
and 60 rows respectively

Query: Select * from A,B:

Question: Is it a valid query?

Ans; Yes it is a valid query

Question: What output it will give?

Ans: It will generate a cartesian product between A and B

Question: What will be the number of rows in the output?

Ans: 50*60= 3000 rows

That was the end of interview, no more questions were asked from me and I was
Selected.

Out of 86 students, 44 were finally selected and given offer letters.
