  I can describe one way to transfer.

-- Select View Data from the Deski
-- Select the data provider which is the source of ur report.
-- Now select the "Export" present in the menu options.
-- After going to the export page ,  check box the   "Export to Local file format"
and select the '.xls' file format..

1. Save the report in .xls format.

2. From the data manager tab export the report to excel format.

Yes, there are 2 ways of transferring the data from a BO report to excel in the 5.1.7 version and they are

1) Export option available in the view data tab.
2) Go to Edit Tab --> copy all --> paste the copied data in a excel.
