Joe and Mathew go on vacation to their grandparents house. The either do yoga in the morning or play football in the evening making sure that they dont do both activities in the same day. During their vacation they did activities on 22 days. At the end of the vacation according to the report sent by her grandmother they didn't do anything on 24 mornings and 12 evenings. What was the total number of days they spent at their grandparents?

  let they work for m  mornings and for e evenings
Given 
   m+e=22;
         m'=24,e'=12 ('denotes complement);
      
m+m'=total number of days=e+e'=x;

   x=22-(x-12)+24;
   
hence total days =29

Both the guys were on vacation for 24 days ,They were only played football for 22 times in the evening out of 24 days and not played football  on 12th eve .They have probably left grandfather house on 24th morning so that is way they haven't played football on that day .

They have not done yoga at all .
