Can loadrunner be used to test standalone components? If so how?

There is a search engine in our project which does not have user interface. Can we test such kind of engines with loadrunner? If so how?

Load runner error 27796: failed to connect to server

What can be reasons for error:error -27796: failed to connect to server "xx.Xx.Com:80": [10060] connection timed outwhat server or client tuning should be performed?My vusers try only to open 200kb page.Thanks in advance
