RE: How to add a master page as left navigation
After creating the BLL and DAL, go to Solution Explorer there right click on the Project Name then click on Add NewItem there comes a combobox in that click on Master Page. Then there it appears on the Name field MasterPage.Master (if u want change the name)
select the language field as Visual Basics.Then Add.

The answer mentioned above is not relevant to the question asked above.
it says that how to add a master page.
i think we cannot add the master page in the left navigation.

Jus create a table and then create table and then add table cells to that. Jus Add a div and place it on the left add some url's and create a navigation on left side
