How many staging areas are there in your project? Recently I have asked this question is there number of staging areas? Please briefly explain it , Thanks in advance.

There are 4 different staging areas in a project these are -

1. Extract

2. Cleansing

3. Transform

4. Load

only 1 staging area. You can use it for extracting, profiling and whatever. Its a bad idea to have individual stating area for each of those operations.Mike

HI Guys just want to clarify, this staging area you are referring to is the actual location of your file and records right ?  This means in unix it could be a folder location like /project/inbox/sst/stage.   If this is the case then it is better to have a different location folder for each staging area prior to the final loading to Target.  But you need to write a shell scripts that clean or archive the area after use.
