What are the test cases for mouse(This question is asked in one of my Interview)

test cases for mouse

1.   Objective is to verify that when we click the right mouse button is it going to open list of that particular file or anything.

       description(test case) is porint to one file or anything and click the right mouse button

     Expected is it opens the list regarding that file (eg:list includes properites and etc)

2.Objective is to verify that when we click the left mouse button twice is it going to open that particular file or not

Description is point to one file and double click on that

expected is it open that particular file

3. Objective is to verify the scroll butoon scrolls the particular page or not

Description is point to one page or file and use the scroll button

Expected is it scrolls the page down or up

I know these only

If i am wrong correct me

We can have the following scenarios

1. Whether mouse pointer appears in the screen

2. whether mouse have two buttons and a scroll key( as per requirement)

3. Whether right button can be clicked

4. Whether left button can be clicked

5. Scroll key is working

6. whether mouse has a cable which can be connected to CPU

1. To check the mouse company

2. Whether it is a PS/2, USB or serial port mouse or cordless mouse

3. It should be plugged to all the ports of different manufacturers

4. It should be platform independent.

5. right clicking on the mouse should open the context window.

6.Double clicking on any folder should open up the file

7. Should be able to scroll up and down using the scroller.

8.should be able to change the functionality of the right and left mouse by going to Control panel

9.should be able to point to the scrollbar and then drag up and down.

10. should always point to the right place, where it is intended to point.

hi all are  corect and In mouse action and mouse motion acrross the window few more r there in it like 1.Mouse curser in text field like it sud b changed from arrow to insert bar insde text field.

2.and it sud b constant in read only field.

Test Cases for Mouse:


1.Check whether the mouse is attached to the cpu
2.Check whether the mouse has 2 or 3 buttons
3.Verify whethet the mouse is not accepted if it has only one button
4.Check whether themouse has scroll button
5.Check whether when the mouse is attached it display the pointer in the monitor
6.Check whether when we move the mouse the pointer also moves
7.Check whether when it does not moves then the mouse is not accepted
8.Check whether we make click and drag while drawing in paint

Test cases for mouse:-


1. To Check the Mouse company
2. Check whether it is PS/2, USB or Serial port mouse or Cardless Mouse
3. it should be plugged to all the ports of different manufactures
4. Check for the basic functionality(smoke Test) whether it is connected to ur PC or not.
5. It should be platform Independent
6. Now,check for the functionality , it should be a pointer on the screen and when it is moved on the links it
7. should turn out to hand symbol.
