1) QTP takes very long to open huge tests. Also CPU utilization becomes 100% in that case.

2) QTP scripts are heavy as it stores all the html files (for active screen) as well.

3) Block commenting is not provided till 8.2 version

Hello, 1. QTP takes more memory interms of storing Active screens which consists of screens of applications which will takes more memory. 2.Also VB script or any scripting language supporting by qtp should be learn by the tester.

I won't agree with the above as a disadvantage. To customize testing process, a language is necessary for any tool. Most of the customization we can manage with key word view in Qtp and its depends on your customization requirement.

QTP supports only windows based applications and it supports only VB scripting language. It does not support Java, PHP, etc.
