Domain in Informatica means - A central Global repository (GDR) along with the registered Local repositories (LDR) to this GDR. This is possible only in PowerCenter and not PowerMart.

In Database parlance you can define a domain " a set of all possible permissible values for any attribute".Like you can say the domain for attribute "Credit Card No#" consists of all possible valid 16 digit numbers.
