What is the difference between at and atx mother boards?

well i AT motherBoard u have to switch off the power after getting msg that its now safe to turn ur pc

while in ATX it is automatic

ATX motherboard having automation in shut down process. and in AT the OS provide the "safe shut down" message for the user after this message user self OFF the machine.

Hello all,

AT mother board is having an SMPS of mechanical swtich, where as the ATX/Microatx, other board has an SMPS with DC switch (automatic). This is the main difference.

Another difference is that number of pin connectors on the mother boards are different for AT&ATX.

The differences between AT & ATX power supply are the connector and output voltage. ATX is has a 20-pin connector for main board power while AT has two six-pin connectors. ATX has a 3.3V output and +5Vsb, but AT doesn't. power supply...
