EME is said as enterprise metdata env, GDE as graphical devlopment env and Co-operating sytem  can be said as asbinitio server

relation b/w this CO-OP, EME AND GDE is as fallows

Co operating system is the Abinitio Server.   this co-op is installed on  perticular O.S platform that is called NATIVE O.S .comming to the EME, its i just as repository in informatica , its hold the metadata, trnsformations,db config files source and targets informations. comming to GDE its is end user envirinment where we can devlop the graphs(mapping just like in informatica)

desinger uses the GDE and designs the graphs and save to the EME or Sand box it is at user side.where EME is ast server side.

A big THNAK YOU to dumps12 for this explanation.. for last 3 days I was searching extensively on the net --all about AbInitio -- want to see Abinitio system Architecture diagram /note like how all s/w components work together etc etc (I am informatica guy so u could imagine i wish to see something similar to how designer, workflow manager, workflow monitor, server admin componets work - whatever they are called in Abinitio)

your answer throws some light

When I started to invistigate and gather info on AbInitio I was surprised by the 'secrecy' on documentation/help in this era of 'open source' ( I wonder how they make sell? may be thats why INFA is market leader - no offense to AbInitio folks)

co>operating system is a core software. After creating graphs the graphs will be run in this co> operating system. It is installed on unix.

Gde means where u develop the graphs the area called as GDE. that is user work area,

EME means it is a repository which holds all the projects.

If i am wrong correct me plz.

EME is Enterpise Meta Environment which is repository(stores data). GDE is Graphycal Development Environment which is user's work area(develops Graphs) and Co>Op is used to run the developed garphs. With out Co>Op we can't run graphs. and we can install Co>op in Unix or Windows NT or any other OS.

GDE is Graphical Development Environment where user creates graphs(It is having GUI environment installed in wondows).
Co>Op system is used for running the developed graphs either in Unix or in WindowsNT environment. We can install in any supported OS. with out Co>op graphs can not be executed(run).
EME is Enterprise Meta Environment which works as repository. It stores all the data on sever side.

GdE runs on co op..whatever u run here on GDE runs with the help of co-op.

EME is for version control of GDE developed projects n plans. Its not that much necessary to have EME..i think..
