Inorder to enter the data to a record via a page so that all the peoplecode is fired so that the data is validated and in order to catch the APIs we use component interfaces.

It syncronizes transaction from external systems (like VB) to Peoplesoft. i.e From VB application if u want to access peoplesoft data u use Component Interface.

A component interface is a PeopleSoft PeopleTools definition that is created to access a Component buffer without actually accessing the Component physically from the PIA.

A component interface is a people tool to enable a peoplesoft component for synchronous access from another application (java c c++ xml).

component interface is a peopletool .it is used to expose the peoplesoft application to the outside world like in the form of (c++ java....)
