obviously the family must have spent some additional no of days apart from the 13. days....lets say it rained it the morning a times.....and 13-a times in the afternoon....then 11-a=12-(13-a) then 11-a=5;so the family spent 13+5 =18 days totally

Whenever it rains, it only rains half a day.... so look at this problem in half days.The family was rained on for 13 {half days}, but they also had 11 + 12 {half days} of sun.So, 13 + 11 + 12 = 36 half days = 18 days.

there r 13 days raining.

n 11 morning n 12 afternoons i.e. 11+12 = 23 times

but for 13 days its once so only 10 time sin one day so ie 1 morning n 1 afternoon so 5 days they went for both the time.

total days 13 days raining n 5 days without it.

13+ 5 = 18 days

now as we can see that rain is there for only 13 days

so acc to ques they have enjoyed 11 mornings nd 12 afternoon now

these days should contain those days in which they have enjoyed both

afternoon and morning now as in my view  they have enjoyed 5 days without rain so they are there for 18 days

Since, it rained for 13 days means that family X has enjoyed 6 mornings & 7 afternoons(total 13). That means for remaining 10 sessions has been enjoyed by the family X in 5 days only(2 sessions a day).
SO, answer 13+5=18.

Family X was there for 18 days.
