let current age of son is x and age of father is y
then one year ago
x-1,y-1
also according to given condition
2(x-1)=y-1
2x-y=1
above eqaution holds good for 37 and 73

The option is 73 and 37 is correct because 1 year ago,
son's age: 36
father's age: 72 i.e. twice the age of son's age.

When u reverse the digits of age of father u will get the age of son.
10x + y = fathers age
10y + x = sons age
:
one year ago the age of father was twice that of sons age.
10x + y - 1 = 2(10y + x - 1)
10x + y - 1 = 20y + 2x - 2
10x - 2x = 20y - y - 2 + 1


8x = 19y - 1
x = y -
Only one set of single digit integers will satisfy this equation
y = 3; x = 7
