  1. Requirement for Active Directory

    1)NTFS partition with enough Free space
    2)Administrator's username and password
    3)Correct Operatiing system version
    4)Nic
    5)Properly configured TCP/IP (IP address, subnet mask and - optional -default gateway)
    6) Net Work Connection(Through Switch or Via Another Computer with Crossover cable)
    7) DNS Server
    8)Domain name that you want to use
    9)The Windows 2000 or Windows Server 2003 CD media

2) NTFS Partition

Active directory minimum Requirement: High End hardware with & Server Operating system.

Function of Active Directory: It centralized Database, it controls All the objects like: Users, Groups , Computers & printers with Special permission with individual objects.
