you assumed that they together can copy 140 pages coz' 70 per head, which is wrong. its clearly mentioned 70 pages together. if you go by your way it would 140-50 = 90 which B can copy in 10 hrs. which is not right.Rather, 70-50 = 20, which B can copy in 10 hrs. so B would copy 26 pages in:(26/20)*10 = 13 hrs.

A can copy 50 pages in 10 hrs.

A can copy 5 pages in 1hr.(50/10)

now A & B can copy 70 pages in 10hrs.

thus, B can copy 90 pages in 10 hrs.[eqn. is (50+x)/2=70, where x--> no. of pages B can copy in 10 hrs.]

so, B can copy 9 pages in 1hr.

therefore, to copy 26 pages B will need almost 3hrs.

since in 3hrs B can copy 27 pages.

Little elaborative

If A can copy 50 pages in 10 hour, Then

A = 50,

If A + B can copy 70 pages in 10 hour, then say

A + B = 70

B = 70 - 50 (Substituted A's value since A can copy 50 pages in 10 hour)

B = 20  but for 10 hours.

20 pages = 10 hour

1 page = 10/20 => 0.5hr

26 pages = (26 * 0.5) or (26 * 1/2)

26 pages = 13 hour

In 10 hours A and B can copy 70 pages.
50+x=70,where x=no. of pages copied by B in 10 hours.
s0,x=20 pages in 10 hours.
so,time taken for 26 pages =10/20*26=13 hours.

A can copy 50 pages in 10 hrs
A & B together can copy 70 pages in 10 hrs

As time is same
only B can copy (A&B)-(A)=70-50=20 pages in 10 hrs

then B can copy 26 pages in=26pages*10hrs/20pages=13hrs

As 1 hr wrk = 50/10=5 pages
A+B 1 hr wrk= 70/10=7 pages
Bs 1 hr wrk = (A+B) - A
=7-5=2 pages
So B can type 26 pages=26/2
=13 pges

According to the question, A can copy 50 pages in 10 hours, so A can copy 5 pages per hour.
similarly A+B can copy 7 pages per hour.
5+B=7 pages per hours, because A=5 pages per hour
=> B=2 pages per hour , then B complete 26 pages in 13 hours.
so, ans=13hours.

PERSONS PAGES HOURS
A-> 50---> 10H
A+B-> 70--> 10H
SOLUTION:
A--> 70--> (10/50)*70==14H
B--> 70--> ?
A+B 70 10H
1/14+B=1/10=>1/35
SO,B--> 70 35H
B 26 ??
(70/35)*26=13
THEREFORE
B---> 26-----> 13H
