There is no limitation on the size of object repository from QTP 9.0 version and it can be freely upgraded if you have earlier version (QTP 8.2) license.
Why I am insisting you to upload to QTP 9.0 is that you can use any of the standard edit options in the object repository or you can Drag and Drag objects from one frame/Window/Dialog/Brower to other for which you have to merge the repositories in earlier versions.

We have to divide existing scripts (actions) into two or more scripts and use action based object repository where each action has its own repository.
So can we manage with storage limit of shared object repository.
