Please image that you have to work 9-12+ hrs a day and it just totally like you spend the rest of life to another man or woman. So it's so important to find a job you like and you see yourself growing or progressing gradually from time to time. Otherwise you are better to shoot your head and go to sleep. The good career means good career path, winning team atmosphere and well compensation; otherwise this is a dead end. 

Money is a common way to measure how successful you are in the society, and the good company should know how to compensate or appreciate their staff by offering fair monetary value to their staff to increase the morale.

If it is an interview then every one would like to answer - Work is important.
But all we know that we work for only Money, chances are less to keep on doing same work if you have been given same amount of money.

Work is important only when you are interested in, regardless of money, in this case.

It is depend up on the situation of the environment and also person.In case person with sufficient money, they think work is important. The person who is lack of money they prefer money first.
