If we give GDG base file then it will coordinate entire GDG version.

First of all one GDG base can have only 255 versions not 1000....As you said we can take base to copy all version

Now GDGE is the extended version of GDG which allows upto 999 versions and you can give the base name concatenate all GDG versions into one file

GDG limit is 255 gerations only
There no point we concatenation of 1000 versions as when it reaches 256 first generation automatically deleted.
