What is the purpose of our test?  Are we auditing the quality of this hard disk to market thousands more, or are we simply testing this disk for our own in-house purposes?  

Where is the marketing information associated with hard disk drive?  What computers are targeted for this device?  Do we have these target computers for testing purposes? 

Where is the hard disk's spec? 
What OS will the disk be mounted under?
What are the interface requirements (internal, external, USB, FireWire, etc).
What are minimum and maximum RAM this drive will page?
What are the RAID specifications

What tool(s) will we use to run performance/stress/burn-in tests on this drive?
Is a burn-in test feasible?
 
When do we plan to release this product?  How many hard disks do we have to test with?  How many testers do we have to perform these tests?

That should get us started.
