A man travels to chinsura everyday. his wife drives him over to Howrah Station every morning and in the evening exactly at 6 p.m. she picks him up from the station and takes him home.one day he was let off at work an hour earlier and so he arrived at the howrah station at 5p.m.instead of at 6 pm he started walking home. however he met his wife enroute to the station and got into the car. they drove home arriving 10 min. earlier than usual.How long did the man have to walk, before he was picked up by the wife?

AS THE QUESTION SAYS WIFE ALWAYS PICK UP HIS HUSBAND AT 6:00PM SO SHE ALWAYS USE TO BE THERE BEFORE LET WITH THE HELP OF CAR THE ROUTE IS OF 15 MINUTES NOW THEY USE TO REACH AT HOME AT 6:15PM NOW ACC TO QUES

THEY HAVE REACHED AT 6:05PM SO HUSBAND HAS WALKED FOR 50 MINUTES BECAUSE WIFE HAS TO GO AT 5:45PM FROM HOME TO PICK UP HB .

They reached home early by 10 minutes, this implies that the car saved 10 minutes of travel in total, between the station and the pickup point.

10 minutes = 5 minutes travel between pickup point and station + 5 minutes travel between station and pickup point.

The car is 5 minutes away from the station when she picked up her husband. At that instant, the time would be 5:55 pm. Therefore her husband would have travelled 5:55 - 5:00 = 55 minutes.
