Hai Bhaskar don't worry, Here's my soln. In first case, total time taken=2hr+10min+(x/30)=t1-----------(1) In second case, total time taken=2hr+10min+(30/v)+(x-30)/30=t2------(2) Its given as t1-t2=1/4 so eq 1.-eq 2 gives v=40miles/hr If puncture doesn't have occured then t=2+x/40 After puncture total time taken excluding puncture time t'=t+20/60 so x/40+1/3=x/30 hence x=40 so total distance=80+x=120 miles
