1) A man was on his way to a marriage in a car with a constant speed. After 2 hours one of the tier is punctured and it took 10 minutes to replace it. After that they traveled with a speed of 30 miles/hr and reached the marriage 30 minutes late to the scheduled time. The driver told that they would be late by 15 minutes only if the 10 minutes was not waste. Hai Bhaskar don't worry, Here's my soln. In first case, total time taken=2hr+10min+(x/30)=t1-----------(1) In second case, total time taken=2hr+10min+(30/v)+(x-30)/30=t2------(2) Its given as t1-t2=1/4 so eq 1.-eq 2 gives v=40miles/hr If puncture doesn't have occured then t=2+x/40 After puncture total time taken excluding puncture time t'=t+20/60 so x/40+1/3=x/30 hence x=40 so total distance=80+x=120 miles
