First assume time at which they meet each other as 't' ,now get the ratio of speeds of c & d which is 4:3.

speed of c:s1

speed of d:s2

s1*108=s2*104     (d=s*t 108sec taken by c to readch other end and 144 by d)

s1:s2=4:3

 let x distance be covered by C and y distance covered by d when they meet each other at time 't'

    x/s1=y/s2   (t=d/s )

x/y=4/3

y=x-18  bcoz distance travelled by c when they met was 18m more than d

3x=4(x-18)

x=72

x=y+18

3(y+18)=4y

y=54

x+y=126
