ans is green...

yellow box can have either of pink/yellow balls.

if we put a yellow ball in "yellow" box then it wud imply that "yellow" is also the colour of the box which has the red ball(becoz acordin 2 d question,d box of the red ball n the ball in the yellow box have same colour)

thus this possibility is ruled out...

therefore the ball in yellow box must be pink, hence the colour of box containin red ball is also pink....

=>the box colour left out is "green",,,which is alloted to the only box left,,,the one which has yellow ball..

4 boxes, red box has green ball, and red ball is the box that is the same as the ball in the yellow box, since the green ball is in the red box it rules out the possibility of it being green, this implies that it is either the red ball is either in the pink or yellow box. If the yellow box has yellow ball, the red ball cannot be in the pink box since it contradicts the condition hence the red ball is in the pink box and the pink ball in the yellow box. Now the only box that is left is the green hence, the red ball is in the green box.

Thus: Red ball->Pink box, Pink ball-> Yellow box, Green ball->Red Box, Yellow ball->Green box

• Red box has a Green ball; therefore yellow box can only have either Yellow, Pink or Red ball
• If the Red ball is in a box with a color same as the ball in the yellow box, it means that the Red Ball is NOT in the Yellow Box, RIGHT?
• We also then know that the Yellow Ball is not in the Yellow Box because the color of the ball in the Yellow Box is the same as the color of the Box that contains the Red Ball.
• So if we eliminate Yellow and Red Balls from the Yellow box, it means that the Yellow Box contains a Pink Ball.
• It therefore means that the Red Ball is in a Pink Box, leaving the Yellow Ball in a Green Box
