User failed to connect database due to tnsnames, what activity you are going to do?

1) Verify tnsnames.ora file exists
2) Ensure its in the correct folder $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin
3) Ensure listener is up and running on the server, lsnrctl status SID
4) Tnsping SID to verify response / can also putty to host db server and run cmd: ps -ef |grep -I tns
