Why three phase motors are designed for 415 Volt AC in place of 440 Volt AC

if motor is designed to operate exactly at 440v during low voltages(i.e,below rated voltage)the motor will draw high currents which damages the winding.so,the motors are designed to 415v (nearer to rated voltage).motors are usually designed to withstand increase or decrease of rated voltage to 5%.
