There is phase called code lock, few days before the production launch your code will be freezed and there will be no changes in the code till it goes to production and client will also be aware of the situation so no CRs will be raised from them.

Suppose if client come back with new CR when you have production launch tomorrow

First thing Test & Development team has to push back on this CR saying this CR cannot be handled now this can go as service pack immediately after launch.
Else accept the CR and push the production dates accordingly.

The code will be freezed and they will be no changes by the development team.

If the client requests are more than expected first we have to see the priority of the request.

even though we cannot change any code once it is locked .

even though CRs should be worked so testing should be done first and developing team should handle the service pack after the production.
