Some criterias in designing a framework are

1.Based on the requirements the framework should be kept simple, because Complexities can only destruct the whole purpose of framework.

2.As the project phase grows even the framework should grow ,hence a well-designed framework must be:
>explicitly designed.
> integrated.
> designed to evolve.
> consistent.

3.It should give opportunity for the testers to expand the framework without much hassle and should be portable ,hence frameworks should not be written specific to the tool.
