OSPF - Open Shortest Path First is linked state routing protocol. It works on djistra algorithm. RIP is distance vector routing protocol. RIP is available in two version - RIP1 & RIP2.  In distance vector routing protocol the router will send the updates to each device on thew network.  In distance vector, routers will send their routing table after each 30 seconds, whether any changes occur or not while in linked state, router will send their routing table to their neighbor only.  If any changes occur then they send the updates to their neighbor only.
