It is connected across the source, it means it is pressurised by the source.

As pressure in pneumatic sysytem is analogaus to voltage that's why the coil connected to supply voltage in wattmeter is called pressure coil.

Current & voltage both requires for utilisation. Current depents on device for its energirising. Each individual device reqiures currents for its own working. But voltage is applied across device terminal, which is fixed value with respect to current. It provides potential differance across terminal. (230v/440v-0) so it called as pressure coil.
