Let me start with an example.

Consider a development project

Initiation : Requirements gathering

Planning : From the scratch to the end product based of the needs and requirements provided.

Design: Once the planning is over, may be there will be need of designing the execution environment, developing environment, prerequisites for the further stages to go on etc.

Initiation , Planning, design, execution and closure are the five different stages in a project life cycle.

Design is such a phase in which each and every thing that has been planned will be designed(Based on the requirements) in a manner that will be suitable for execution and further stages.

Once the design is over, the planned and hence designed architectures and environments will be used to start the execution or development stage.

Projects needs to be designed carefully which must be meaningful according to the readers and learners..It must be planned in such a way so that it can be followed easily a project should contain a meaninngful data related to topic prescribed
