Average power is zero. We cant get 3 phase supply

Reson 1 is the way power is generated. Due to the construction of generators, the default wave form is sinusoidal. Secondly, the frequency of sine wave is a single definite value while other wave forms are formed due to harmonics along with the fundamental sine wave and result in wastage of power in heating and thus reduce equipment life / rating. Hence sinusoidal wave is used for all electrical systems.

We know flux(phi)=NBA cos(teta)
e=-d(phi)/dt
therefore on differentiating we get
e=NBAw sinwt.
ie.sinusoidal wave.

Moreover when 3 phase are displaced by angle 120 with respect to each other,rotating magnetic field is produced.
