Ratios are compounded by mul together the antecedents for a new antecedents and the consequents for a new consequent.

ex

is a*c*e/b*d*f

As we know that,

      Compound Ratio:(a:b),(c:d),(e:f) is (ace:bdf). So, We have

      The equivalent compound ratio of 5:6::7:10::6:5
      where.. a=5,b=6,c=7,d=10,e=6 & f=5.
      Hence, The equivalent compound ratio is 210:300 (ace:bdf=5*7*6 : 6*10*5)

Note:- For more details plz go through the R.S Aggarwal's Quantitave Aptitude Book.

Let us take an example to understand this problem:
Suppose ,
If (a:b)::(c:d)::(e:f)
then the compounded ratio will be (ace):(bdf)
Now,
Q. (5:6)::(7:10)::(6:5)
Ans. Step 1: (5*7*6) : (6*10*5)
Step 2: (210) : (300)
Step 3: Divide 210/300 and you will get an answer 7/10
Answer:: 7:10
