Hi,

Test strategy and Test Plan are a crucial components in a Test Life Cycle.
In nut shell i am summarising below:

Test Strategy-->In the Requirement Analysis and strategy preparation phase we    identify a test strategy to meet the requirements. It defines the series of different tests to be executed e.g. 1.System Testing
                                         2.Perf. Testing
                                         3.Security Testing
                                         4.Stress,Volume testing.................(as per specs.)

Test Plan-->In Test Planning and Design Phase we prepare a Test plan.
the objective is 1.Define the activities required for conducting testing.
2.Communicating to all the other communities about the test plan.
3.Communicate all responsibilities to the various parties.
                         4.Identifing various dependencies and risks.
                         5.Resource allocation etc....................
