A ship went on a voyage after 180 miles a plane started with 10 times speed that of the ship. Find the distance when they meet from starting point.

180 + (x/10) = x
x = 20
answer is 180+20=200miles.

let u is the speed of ship and 10u is of plane. 
relative speed=9u 
distance covered=time to meet*speed of plane 
=180*10u/9u 
=200miles
