Every day a cyclist meets a car at the station. The road is straight and both are traveling in the same direction. The cyclist travels with a speed of 12 Kmph. One day the cyclist comes late by 20 min. and meets the car 5km before the Station. What is the speed of the car?

- Let the pt. where the cyclist meets the car be X, which is 5 km before the station.

- As the cyclist's speed is 12 km/hr, it will take another 25 mins. for him to reach the station. For example, if everyday he meets the car at the station at 8'o clock, then he must reach the pt. X at 7:35. But, today as he is late by 20 mins. he will be reaching X at 7:55 only. So, as the car is 5 km before the station at 7:55 and reaches the station at 8:00, it crosses 5 km in 5 mins. So, its speet is 60 kmph.
