totally 15 hits.

x+y=40

50x+10y=5*100

solving we get 15 hits......so y =25 such tat he looses 2.5 rupees...

x*50+(40-x)10=500

50*X-10(40-X)=500 as he lost 10p for a miss we have to substract and no. of hits we get is 15.
