Framework does not depend on the tool.it depends on the project and the company rools and reguations.

framework means sumthnk tht can be reuse across many requirements.. nd if frame work deals wth automation tool thn its as automation frame work.

Frame work means the activities whatever we are doing before going for scripting of automation. Generally in the framework concentrates on what are setting we have to do for automation tool, What are the variables we have to use for scripting, Where the script has to be save(what is the path), Where the compiled modules or user defined functions has to be saved, What types of recording modes we have to use (like Analog or context sensitive in winrunner) for what type of functions in the current application, What type of test results we have to save, and where those things should be send (like test director or Quality center), What type of synchronizations we have to use and for which things, What are check points we have to use and for which things, Similiarly data bases and other things.
