i think the book has 503 pages.as 3 comes 12 times in 100,if we divide 60 by 12 then we get 5 that means 500 pages.and for 61 3's its 503 pages.

Between 1 to 100 you get 19 nos. having 3 (like - 3 , 13 , 23 , 30 ,31,32,........39,43,53 , ......93)So 19*3=57 times we get nos. having 3 in 100*3 pages.....where last page no is 293...then comes ......300 , 301 , 302 , 303 ......which are next 4 pages to give 57+4=61 pagesSo answer is 303 pages...I hope i have explained it thoroughly........regards,Gauri

Its 19+19+19 and 3 appears 4 more times that is for the next 30 pages

So the answer is 330

there are 19 3's b/w 1 to 100

therefore there are 57 3's b/w 1 to 299(i.e 19+19+19=57)

then from 300 to 303 counts four 3's

therefore 57+4=61

hence the book contains 303 pages
