No Confusion.  The answer is 833.

From 1 to 999 we have to remove the numbers divisible by 8 and numbers divisible by 12.  The no. of numbers which are divisible by 8 is 999/8 is 124.  The no. of numbers which are divisible by 12 is 999/12 is 83.  But the multiples of 24 will be in both divisible by 8 and 12.  The no. of numbers which are divisible by 24 is 999/24 is 41.

Hence the answer is 999 - 124 - 83 + 41 = 833.
