In Ansys software we have options for stress intensity solution and von mises analysis rather than tresca. i want to inquire the difference between stress intensity analysis and von mises analysis?

No, the Von Mises equivalent stress doesnt correspond to the onset of failure but rather the onset of permanent strains (plastic strains)

Differential is used because while turning the velocity of inner and outer wheel are differnt so if we do not use differntial skidding can take place, alternative for differntial is to power just one of the wheel in the axle.
