Almost all the event against the database which may hinder its smooth operation is captured in Alert Log file as error messages.Oracle creates a new alert log files if you delete the current one after taking backup for future reference.Shashi b Singh

1) HAVING clause can only be used to filter out the aggegate functions whereas WHERE clause cannot filter out the aggegate functions.
2) HAVING clause can be used with GROUP BY function where as WHERE clause cannot be used with group by function.gubba123

Having is used for agregate results while where is used for unagregated results.

Yes, Archive log files should be on different disk because in case of database failure we can get the data from the Archive logfiles.

Who said there is no OEM in 9i. OEM was there in 9i too.As far as difference is there... There are many enhancement in 10g OEM over 9i OEM. There are several tools such as AWR and ADDM has been incorporated and there is Sql Tuning advisor too.RegardsShashi singh

You can take advantage of db_cache_advice in the parameter file. you can also use v$db_cache_advice.When using db_cache_advice = On; a proper caution is adviced as it can take some memory from Shared_pool will be affected which otherwise meant for same purpose

It is two. It is the minimum no of extents that we can assign to roll back segment.The max extents depends on the version of Oracle being used.
