What is difference between dual core and core 2 duo processors?

These term are related to speed of processor in the machine ,The Dual core is four  time faster than the pentium4 and the core 2 duo is two times faster than the dual core, it means core 2 duo is 8 time faster than a pentium4.Subhash patel
