I guess with Cognos Report Net report bursting is possible ie splitting one report and sending to multiple people, Which I suppose is not possible in other tools.And the architecture of Reportnet is diff from the rest.

In BO also we can generate report from multiple data sources by merging two data providers at report level, however with universe we can connect to only one database unless they are not linked universes.

If we import universes and users from BO 6.5 to XI R2, the universes and the connections are also imported. If it is showing error in ODBC, It seems to be a connection error. try to create a new conncetion for the importing universe.

We can import the universe, users and reports by using a import wizard available in BO XI R2 the other way you can restore using BIAR file, just take a back of your BO 6.5 Security, universe and document domain and extract those in BOXI R2

No need to change the universe, create some report level variables like:Year =Year([Date]), Month =Month([Date]), DayNumber([Date]) etc, but if you want to only show them differently just change the dateformat of the cell.

I feel you are getting confused with Cascading LOVs and Cascading Prompts.In Business Objects XI, we have Nested Prompts (which you might call cascading prompts). And this is since 6.x version and there is no change in that.From XI, they have introduced Cascading LOVs concept.
