I think what matters is what you are doing its purpose is clear or not ?

As far as Self Starter is concerned is that you are taking an Initiation to do that work or not without thinking its consequences..

A "self-starter" is a person so highly motivated to accomplish desired goals that he or she requires little or no supervision or direction to achieve them.
Self motivation is the ability to satisfy a desire, expectation, or goal without being influenced to do so by another person. Self motivation is the key to a paradigm shift or behaviour changes amongst individuals.
